New York City Center High School Orchestra Award
The Broadway Education Alliance is excited to partner with New York City Center to spotlight a student pit orchestra that demonstrates exceptional accomplishment in musical theater performance. New York City Center is honored to award the W.T. Clarke High School Pit Orchestra for their exceptional accomplishment in musical theater performance. Students from W.T. Clarke High School will be performing the opening and closing numbers at the 2024 Roger Rees Awards under the direction of Guest Conductor Rick Hip-Flores.

The Pit Orchestra of W.T. Clarke High School’s Theatre Arts Society is an extra-curricular ensemble comprised of students from the school’s instrumental music program with a long-standing tradition of providing large orchestral accompaniment for the school’s annual musical. The award-winning W.T. Clarke High School instrumental music program, with bands under the direction of Molly Tittler-Ingoglia and orchestras under the direction of Gregory Krajci, have placed first in the NYC Columbus Day Parade, performed multiple times at Walt Disney World, and win consistent Gold and Gold with Distinction ratings at the NYSSMA Majors Organization Festival. The school is a part of the greater East Meadow School District in Nassau County (Long Island), which has won multiple honors, including two NYSSMA Presidential Citation Awards and is consistently named a “Best Community for Music Education” by the NAMM Foundation. The W.T. Clarke High School Music Department fosters excellence in music through discipline and pride.
