New Faces 2022 in Solo Performance Honors
Recognizing excellence in individual performance.

Award winners will receive customized professional development from experts in the relevant field and/or educational scholarships.

Broadway Education Alliance Inc. (“BEA”) is proud to add New Faces 2022 in Solo Performance Honors to the Roger Rees Awards portfolio to recognize individual student performers across all disciplines. This new recognition category is open to any 9-12th grade student exploring a vocal, dance and/or acting performance discipline not limited to musical theatre. Each student can submit audition video(s) of a solo performance, in one, or all three, categories, from any genre that is most relevant to them.

Registered high schools can participate in this award category whether or not the school offers a formal in-school or after-school performing arts education instruction or extracurricular program(s).  Each school can submit up to (8) students for consideration of this recognition.

Register with BEA by February 1, 2022, for students to be considered for New Faces 2022. Click Here

New Faces 2022 is presented in collaboration with The Casting Society of America.

BEA and our partners support equal opportunities for all students regardless of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin. The Roger Rees Awards is committed to maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and ethical responsibility.

All high schools located throughout the Greater New York region are eligible to submit students for consideration of a New Faces 2022 Honor. There is no requirement for the school to produce performances in theater, dance, or other disciplines, or to offer a formal theatre arts program, performance-focused clubs, or extracurricular activities.

While no set level performance experience is required, students should submit in categories in which they have an interest and skill in a genre that best showcases their talent.

All video submissions will be reviewed by a panel of professional casting directors who will complete a Roger Rees Awards vetted rubric intended to identify students who demonstrate exceptional or unique talent.

The ten highest scoring students* in each category will become Nominees who will receive in-person professional coaching in the category in which they are Nominated. Students will then have the opportunity to resubmit their video auditions which will be reviewed by another team of casting directors, administrators representing a variety of higher education institutions, and/or industry professionals who are providing access to educational scholarships, skills training, or professional opportunities.

Note: A student* may be selected as a Nominee in more than one category.

One or more students will be awarded the opportunity for private coaching, master classes, pre-college scholarships, or professional auditions.
