Performer, Director, Choreographer, Michelle Robinson returns to Atlanta to lead Camp Broadway EXP for our Newsies inspired one-day program on Saturday, December 27. From the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Rockettes, to feature films, a recurring role on the soap opera One Life To Live, and a music video with Beyonce, Michelle has worked in every aspect of the entertainment industry. Her talent and skills as a performer and creative artist have landed her many roles on Broadway and in international touring shows including George C. Wolfe’s Jelly’s Last Jam and the long running hit, Chicago.
For nearly a decade, Michelle played Liz, one of the merry murderesses who kills her boyfriend for cracking his gum, in Fosse’s most popular show. It’s a challenging role that allowed her to sing, dance and act. Michelle says, “I allow myself the freedom to go out and create something that is both entertaining and real. In some shows I might only have a moment to make a lasting impression, so I stick to the truth.” Whether she is working with Spike Lee or the aspiring young performers who attend Camp Broadway, Michelle is a consummate professional—focused, passionate and dedicated to helping our theater-loving kids, ages 10-17, to discover their unique truth.
